PHARR - John M. Whitney, age 62, passed away peacefully on
Thursday, November 16, 2006, at Life Care Hospital in McAllen
after a valiant battle with lung cancer.John was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 23, 1944, to Harvey
and Rosalie Whitney. He is survived by his wife Patricia; sons
Steven (Lynette) of Springfield, VA; Matthew (Angela) of San
Diego, CA; Jacob of Minnetonka, MN; and stepson, Theodore (Amy)
Kritzler of Coon Rapids, MN. He is also survived by a brother,
two sisters and four grandchildren.His passion was fishing; he loved watching sports especially if
one of his kids or grandkids was playing; he was an avid reader
of historical fiction and Civil War history. He was a good
friend, the best Dad and the dearest husband ever. He will be
missed the most by his family, but also by all his friends at
Paradise Park in Pharr, at Head Lake Camp in Richville, MN as
well as by his former co-workers at Honeywell in Minneapolis,
MN.A Memorial Service will be held at the Paradise Park Recreation
Hall, 301 East Hall Acres in Pharr on Sunday, December 17, 2006,
at 4 p.m.Arrangements were entrusted to Skinner Silva Funeral Home of
Pharr.
