Newell’s
daughter. Organized a company and went out as it head as
captain. Died

I found out more about Brayton Lindsey McKee.
Appears he was married first to Elizabeth Overton (Lake), she was married to James Lake, I haven't found when she married James, yet. They may have been divorced. I have my sister who works at the Polk County Court House checking to see if she can get to Divorce records.
Brayton and Elizabeth were married on 21 Dec 1873, seems they divorced as well. Again, we're checking that out. But, that would explain why he lived with his parents for awhile.
He married Nancy Elizabeth Kelly on 18 May 1886.
